GamesRelay: In what ways will the player be able to customise their character, and what classes will be available to choose from?
Zandro Chan: In Daggerdale, player can choose from 4 different character archetypes. Each of these characters has their own playstyle and strategies that players will need to master. Players can take on the role of the melee expert Human Fighter, the quick and nimble Elven Rogue, the master of the arcane arts Halfling Wizard, and the powerful divine Dwarven Cleric. Selecting the right character to complement a team's playstyle is essential when playing multiplayer.
When a player gains a level they will unlock new feats and powers. The powers have 3 tiers, and there is an extensive list of feats that players can use to create a truly unique character. As the player levels, he/she can add additional attribute points to their ability scores, further enhancing the performance of the character. At higher levels, the number of weapons, armors and items that players can use grows exponentially. Weapons and armors not only have a functional impact on gameplay, but also help individualize players visually.

GamesRelay: How much of the tabletop RPG are you incorporating into the game? What version of the rules is it using, and did you need to make compromises with them in order to make it into a game?
Zandro Chan: The game systems are all based on the Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition rule set. We wanted to stay true to the 4th Edition rules that we all know and love, but at the same time we needed to adapt its complex systems to an action-based moment-to-moment experience, balancing it across the character's growth path. Everything is repeatedly tweaked and tuned to fit the pacing of our action RPG title and we think the end result is an experience that is both deep with character experimentation and also filled with high intensity combat.
