After sneaking past more guards, hacking locked doors via a nifty little mini-game, and bypassing various other security measures, it was time to show off the more action-oriented mechanics. A save was loaded up at the same point with a different set of augmentations and a new loadout. Then the firefight began.
The shooting mechanics look spot-on; you can pop in and out of cover to shoot, slowly regenerate health when you aren't getting shot (or use items to heal faster), toss various grenades, and take down stunned enemies with a melee attack. After blasting through a few more rooms, the demo was over, but not before it was mentioned that each mission will have a main objective and several smaller side-objectives you can choose to tackle. These (side quests) will net you extra stuff, naturally, but they'll also sidestep the awkward (do this random thing that has no bearing on anything else) stuff and make actual sense within the context of the world and story.
