Who is writing the story for the Missing Link?
DBed says:
(Mary DeMarle, lead narrative designer on DX:HR was the lead writer on The Missing Link. Most members from the DX:HR writing team were back for writing duty on The Missing Link as well.)
Since the Missing Link takes place during the game's main plot, will there be a way to patch it in to the whole thing as well as playing it seperately? Would make for an interesting second (or third, fourth etc,) play through.
DBed says:
(No.)
Even though we *can* access the new mission from the main menu can we *also* play the mission in sequence during the main campaign? Apart from by saving, the game, loading the DLC from the menu, playing it and then loading the main campaign again, obviously.
DBed says:
(What you just described is the only way to play The Missing Link in sequence. This is the only thing that isn't multisolution about The Missing Link!)
...
Will those of us who prefer a prolonged game over some detached mini-game be able to play the main storyline with The Missing Link included?
DBed says:
(I would already call 5 additional hours of Deus Ex: Human Revolution-style gameplay (that is almost infinitely replayable) a prolonged game, so don't be disappointed if I tell you that you will only be able to play it detached from the main game!)
First off, thank you so much for this incredible game. You've said that The Missing Link DLC will be directly accessible from the main menu, but will it also appear automatically at 'that' point in the normal game, slotting in where Jensen goes 'off grid'? If so, will the player's augmentation choices during the DLC stages be permanent, and carry through to the rest of the game? For what it's worth, I really hope the answers to those two questions are both 'yes'.
DBed says:
(The Missing Link will not appear in the main game narrative, and your augmentation set in The Missing Link will not carry over to the main game after you've completed it. While gameplay-wise The Missing Link is not tied back into the main game, narratively you will find out things that will shed some much needed light on some of the .shadier sections of the Human Revolution world.)
