The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Sold 240k Copies Digitally, 81% on Steam

CD Projekt announced that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has sold roughly 240,000 copies through digital delivery services, as reported by Shacknews. 81% of those were on sold Steam, with Good Old Games standing on the second place on the podium with a still respectable but much smaller 15%.
"The digital sales of The Witcher 2 have exceeded our expectations," CD Projekt co-founder Marcin Iwiński said in today's announcement. "We are even more pleased that our own platform GOG.com had such a great share in the Witcher's success."

"The performance of GOG.com in selling new titles is not completely surprising, as we have said for years that DRM isn't necessary. It is gratifying to see that the only platform that offered The Witcher 2 DRM-free from launch has performed so well."

A respectable number indeed, but also a proof of how much Steam dominates the market at the moment, considering that their version uses DRM and certainly couldn't compete with Good Old Games' offering.
