Tim Cain Joins Obsidian Entertainment Full-time

While there was some understandable excitement at the news of Interplay, Troika and Carbine Studios veteran Tim Cain, who was instrumental for titles such as the original Fallout and Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magicka Obscura joining Obsidian Entertainment, it was partially dampened by the fact that it was a temporary contract, and that the man was already in talks with another company to join it. Plans have changed though, and Obsidian's co-founder Chris Avellone brings news that the man has decided to stay at the company via Twitter:

My heart grew three sizes today when Tim Cain said yep, it was official - he was going to stay and work with us full-time.

@ChrisAvellone He wasn't before?

@Ercarret He was on contract, he was planning to work with another company in a few months, then changed his mind & decided to stay. :)

So far Tim has been involved solely as a programmer for the company, but hopefully after this he'll get the chance to do some design work too.
