The majority of the game sees players using the two characters in tandem. Arkill the orc is a powerhouse who relies on heavy melee combat; Styx the goblin is a trickster who relies on stealth, sneaky one-hit kills, and ranged attacks. Players can switch between characters on the fly, and when they do, the computer A.I. controls the other character.
Fortunately, you can select the moves you'd like the computer to execute and the targets that you want it to attack, so your A.I. partner isn't a braindead automaton. When engaging multiple enemies, you can have the muscle-bound Arkill hurl the smaller Styx Fastball Special-style at particular enemies. There are several skills and armor types available for customizing your fighter.
