If you enjoy concept art and are curious about the iterative process behind character, monster and environmental designs, then you'll surely want to take a look at this blog post from BioWare concept artist Matt Rhodes, who shows and discusses some concept pieces for both the Mass Effect franchise and Dragon Age II.

Quoting any text without the images to accompany it would be pointless, so, to pique your curiosity, I'll just point out that the post contains, among other things, some early concept art with Shepard using Reaper tech to enhance himself like Saren did in Mass Effect, and some early and decidedly alien designs for Tali's face. It's really worth a look.
