I have to confess I've been and I continue to be a little skeptical about whether Bare Mettle Entertainment can pull off what they're promising with Sui Generis, but judging by the gameplay footage included in the latest post-funding Kickstarter update, they're definitely on the right track. In other words, the game looks impressive even in this pre-alpha state, with something of the later Ultimas in terms of equipment handling and the general philosophy.

Of course, the Ultima titles had impressive content too, while Sui Generis is still empty looking at this stage of development, and we don't know how it might run on a range of machines or whether the gameplay systems will actually work well outside of the hands of the developers, but there's still time for that.
