The third Kickstarter update for Serpent in the Staglands includes info on some game systems that hadn't been covered in depth so far, with aptitudes in particular getting a whole new video. Here's a snippet:
Adding Players to Party & Morality:
You may have noticed one of the dialogue options after getting that sellsword's contract was to grab his hand and bind his soul. This is one of the key morality factors that plays into the game. Some of your party members leave you after a certain amount of time, or have things they'd like you to do that don't interest you. To prevent this, you have Necholai's immortal ability to bind someone's soul to your own. Unfortunately, they will undoubtedly hate you for their loss of free will, but it does mean they can't abandon you. Most NPC quips and personal dialogue will change from friendly to rude, as they are bound forever to help and aid you against their will. There isn't a morality number or system in the game, but people's reactions to Necholai are reflective of your own actions.
New Music:
We have a new song to share in honor of reaching our first stretch goal, provided by our composer, V-Axys, who will be doing the full soundtrack.
