If no other MMORPG has struck a chord with you since the original EverQuest, then you'll be interested in seeing just how much progress Brad McQuaid and the team at Visionary Realms has been making on Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen in this new October update video:

With its clear focus on exploration, this actually looks really good to me. And for a point of comparison, the team has also linked us to some pre-alpha footage for the original EverQuest from late 1997:
