The Technomancer Now Available, More Reviews

Just as we anticipated, Focus Home and SPIDERS released The Technomancer today, their "sci-fi action RPG set on the sands and terraformed tropics of a post-apocalyptic Red Planet." Should you find your curiosity piqued, we'll help you formulate your decision by rounding up some more reviews below.

WCCFTech gives it a 7.2/10:

Hopefully the developer will choose another engine for its next projects, like Epic’s Unreal Engine 4 (which is being used by several games due to be published soon by Focus Home Interactive). That said, if you’re ready to accept that you won’t be wandering off like you would in Fallout 4 or The Witcher 3 then The Technomancer is a solid purchase for RPG fans. If not at full price, at the very least once discounts kick in.

NZGamer gives it a 3.5/10:

This might all seem a bit harsh, but I’m actually angry at this game. It had such potential, promised such great things, and this is what we got: a Frankenstein hack job. I know I should know better by now, but I didn’t. Trying to avoid talking about the asking price, I say it’s up to you. There are two reasons to buy this game: vain hope or morbid curiosity. Either way, you should probably throw out your other coasters. Do not get your ass to Mars.

GameGrin gives it a 6/10:

The Technomancer has frustrated me a lot over the last couple weeks, because I really enjoyed the world that Spiders created and wanted to get to know the characters more, but the constant choke points and combat inconsistencies make me want to stop playing. The story and certain characters make up for that in some way, and the romance dialogue that I pursued made up for some of the more disappointing characters. That said, I feel that with a little more work, a lot of my issues could have been fixed before launch.

And n3 gives it a 4.2/10:

Overall, I’m slightly disappointed with The Technomancer. I was looking forward to starting a new robust RPG journey, but instead I was met with a dull slog which I’ll never get back. While the first couple of hours was enjoyable, the game quickly became drab, especially when you pass the same group of enemies for the fourth-time running. While the combat was somewhat enjoyable, the rest of the game really isn’t worth shouting about.
