Archon Studio brings us a new Kickstarter update for their crowdfunded board game adaptation of Heroes of Might and Magic III. The update opens by directing us to this here developer diary dedicated to all the heroes added to the game through a series of stretch goals. It then gives us a general progress report for the game and its Inferno expansion.
Those of you living in Poland will probably be happy to learn that a playtest version of the game will soon be coming to a hobby shop near you.
We also get to see some dragon and Inferno miniatures, an updated hero card format, and a scale comparison. But here are just the text bits:
Stretch Goal Show Off
During the campaign, various Heroes were unlocked, but we haven’t had the opportunity to fully show them off yet. These heroes will really spice up how the game is played and are meant to facilitate a variety of playstyles!
If you want more information, then I heavily recommend checking out the dev diary our developers released today, right here!
In addition to the various hero cards, the Rust and Crystal dragons were also unlocked. We weren’t ready to reveal them at the time of the campaign, but they’re ready now[...]
Inferno Expansion Progress Report
Our 3D artists have been hard at work this entire time, and they’ve finally finished work on all of the miniatures for the Inferno Expansion! Our artists have always made very detailed models, but I believe they really outdid themselves this time…
Playtests, Playtests, Playtests…
We’ve had a lot of people asking about any playtests that might be happening anywhere and we hear you! We’re currently in the final stages of sorting out exact dates with a lot of hobby shops all across Poland, and we’ll share the exact dates as soon as we can. We gave a list of hobby shops that we’re planning to have events at, but that list has since grown! As more info comes in, we’ll be sure to update everyone.
We’ve also done many internal playtests with the new hero card format, which allows for much greater stability and is a lot more durable than the previous version[...]
Scale Comparison
Another topic that has been brought up a couple of times is the scale of the miniatures, as a lot of the material posted for updates isn’t to scale which can be quite confusing for some. Below are all of the miniatures posted to scale, we made sure to be as accurate as we possibly could (within reason)!
