Todd Howard is the project leader of what is looking like the most beautiful publicly well-known game in development (I'll take full responsibility for saying that). It's the 1st-person single-player RPG Morrowind, and in an e-interview with Actiontrip he lends some answers about the project for public consumption and digestion. Consider this a light lunch with a bit of spice:

Q: Can you tell us about the size o the world covered in Morrowind?

A: The game covers about half of the province of Morrowind in Tamriel. In total game space the area is about 50 times the size of the entire game of Redguard. So it's pretty big.

As you weave through the interview, you'll encounter beautiful screens. Though amazing in detail, they aren't new, but can be found on the Official Morrowind Page along with a very active forum message board.
