Throne of Bhaal, as we saw at E3 2K1, is different from most expansion packs. You need BG2 in order to make use of the 40-50 more hours of gameplay it adds, but the pack acts as both an "Add-in" as well as an "Add-on." The Add-in is a new dungeon called "The Watcher's Keep," which you can discover as you play the original BG2. Then, once you complete the storyline of BG2, you are given a brand new map to explore--the city of Tethyr, south of Amn--which contains your new, final quest. This quest takes place shortly after the finale of BG2. You can either import your old party to continue the new quest, or you can start a new, high-level party from scratch.
