DAoC Live!

It's that time. Finally, after all of the work GameBanshee (mostly Buck) has dedicated to the extremely cool Arthurian Legend-based MMORPG Dark Age of Camelot, the time has come to relax and just play it for real. No more beta characters, that knowing that your character doesn't mean as much... it's real. The official DAoC site has been updated with this paragraph, including a link to the official press release. Summing it up nicely:

Dark Age of Camelot's Beta program has ended, and the game has gone live, Mythic announced in a Press Release distributed this morning. As of about 8 AM eastern time, the beta servers were taken down; the live servers will be brought up this morning. Retail players are expected to start filtering into the game over the next two days. On a personal note, we sincerely thank all our dedicated Beta Testers who devoted so much of their time over the last 12 months to making Camelot the most stable, balanced, and fun Online RPG to date.

Please enjoy the continued ultra-deep coverage here at GameBanshee (that of course should be more in-depth than anywhere else eventually) of the game that's going to take a sizeable chunk of the MMORPG market, DAoC!
