GameSpot's RPG wizard, Desslock, has written up another article about some of the recent events happening in the RPG scene. Included in the article are his thoughts on BioWare's resolution with Interplay, Icewind Dale II being officially announced, and the Baldur's Gate II MOD, The Darkest Day. Here's a snippet:

Sure enough, Interplay, Infogrames and BioWare have announced a settlement. The terms of the settlement aren't likely to be disclosed, at least in any detail, but Interplay apparently received compensation sufficient to release its claim on Neverwinter Nights. One good (among several) aspects of the settlement is that it will likely permit Interplay to continue to produce D&D games for a while (Infogrames was the only party able to extend the duration of Interplay's licence to produce D&D games, which was on the verge of expiring).
