Q: Are we looking at the same style of open-ended character development from Fallout, or are you introducing a more structured experience/advancement system?
A: I would say our goal was for character development to be as open-ended as possible. Since there are no classes in SPECIAL, how you decide to increase your skills determines your character's abilities in the world. At the most basic level you can focus on melee combat, ranged combat, sneaking, speaking or magic use, but there is nothing that prevents players from being a master of one thing, being great at several, or being just-OK at just about every skill.
