J.E. Sawyer Interview

RPGDot has conducted an interview with Black Isle's J.E. Sawyer, asking the designer questions about how he landed his job, his non-gaming hobbies, the gaming industry in general, and more. Check it out:
Q: Please tell us who you are, what you do and about your career history.

A: My name is J.E. Sawyer. I am a lead designer at Black Isle Studios, a division of Interplay. I am responsible for organizing and guiding designers in their tasks, writing main story elements (plot, characters, area overviews etc.), designing interfaces for the game and editors, and designing rule implementation.

I started at Interplay as a web designer on Planescape: Torment. I eventually moved over to development as a junior designer on Icewind Dale, an intermediate designer on Heart of Winter, and the lead designer for Icewind Dale 2. I also did minor design work for Torn, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, and Lionheart.
