IGNPC: Will players be able to use their existing characters in the new game? Will he other members of the party be included as well?

Chris Taylor: We not only wanted to provide a fantastic new adventure but also wanted the enhancements to be playable in the original worlds (Ehb and the Utraean Peninsula). The new characters, including the half-giants, can be saved in the single-player game and then used in the multi-player game as well.
