Prestigious game developer achieves (Top) success
BioWare Corp. is recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers
EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada, Oct.22, 2003 BioWare Corp. is honoured to announce that it has been recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers. The future for BioWare continues to look bright. The recently announced Jade Empire,â„¢ an Xbox title to be published by Microsoft in late 2004, marks BioWare's first creation of an entirely new, proprietary intellectual property since the company's inception. Data for Canada's Top 100 Employers award is compiled and analyzed by Mediacorp Canada Inc. who received a record number of applications this year, a staggering 51,000 applicants from across Canada. The Top 100 Employers provided information based on outstanding Human Resource practices, exceptional growing success and contribution to the community.
BioWare was also honoured as one of five finalists for an Ongoing Achievement Award by the Business Development Bank of Canada. The selected few that were chosen for this nomination, have been past winners of the Young Entrepreneur Award between 1988 and 2002, and have continuously displayed outstanding success and growth in Canada. BioWare was a 1997 recipient of the Young Entrepreneur Award, just two short years after the start of the company. The Business Development Bank of Canada is a financial institution wholly owned by the government of Canada. BDC plays a leadership role in delivering financial and consulting services to Canadian small business, with a particular focus on technology and exporting.
