Deus Ex: Invisible War Review

Invisible War feels like a title that could have been and perhaps should have been better. In addition to the issues already noted, there are smaller, niggling ones like mouselag in the default.ini file, which makes your cursor slide to the general vicinity instead of moving precisely - not all that difficult for most gamers to fix, but we shouldn't have to. As well, even doing every side quest I could find, I completed the game using a combative approach in a rather short time, less than 12 hours including re-loads. A second character, sticking closer to the central storyline, took only about seven, although reports indicate methodical players can expect around 20.
So is it worth purchasing? The million-dollar question - well, more like $50 plus tax. Truthfully, through its ups and downs, pros and cons, this is a game not far short of greatness, one I can recommend to any RPG fan. The non-linearity, physics engine, memorable storyline and other key elements give Deus Ex: Invisible War a uniqueness all its own, providing a compelling gaming experience that feels more like you're in an interactive movie than playing an ordinary computer game.
