City of Heroes Review

MMO titles are a pain in the backside to review simply because tomorrow the game could be better with more content, new features and bug fixes that may have been gnawing at the back of our minds. We've been playing CoH for a few weeks now and we think it's fair to finally put a review score on this baby. Having had the pleasure of playing some great MMO titles and the displeasure some bloody awful ones, I can safely say that CoH is quite different from most. It's quicker, less fussy and has that all important fun-factor that I think is essential for any subscription based game. I will say this though, I'm not entirely sure how long the game will keep you hooked as you reach higher levels, but that's really down to how you embrace the game world itself and the content updates from Cryptic. CoH is definitely unique when compared to most titles in the genre and I've been having a blast playing this game, one of the most enjoyable MMO titles by far and a must for comic fans. We've ranked CoH a 9/10 for pure fun-factor and the fact that I love the comic hero concept but if that's not a deciding factor for you then an 8.5/10 would be a reasonable score.
