I create the art. The Designers create content and give it a description, then I interpret that description into the 3D model, textures and animations. The descriptions are also used to help me break down how big the content is and how many textures to use. I also need to decide how many polygons to use to describe an object, given the capabilities and limitations of the game engine. This is all done with the goal of making it pleasing to the eye.
