Vampire: Bloodlines Reviews

am a bit biased with this game. I host the Bloodlines site here at Warcry and have been drooling and waiting for this game since they announced it 18 months ago. This game would have had to been an absolute horror for me to really say anything bad about it. Sure, it has its minor problems that any big game with new technology has, but the overall play is simply fantastic. I sweat in the fights. I get anxious when I am hiding from the police, and I actually feel some fear when my life is in danger. No game has ever hit all those at once. No game that is, until Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines.
The second is at ToTheGame with an overall score of 8/10:
I was looking for a title that blended action and RPG; instead I get a title that gives me a fantastic role playing experience with some messy and confusing FPS/Action elements. So even though this title might not be the best idea for those types of gamers, Bloodlines really can suck you in for a good three to four hours at a time. And there is the occasional episode where setting someone on fire can be somewhat satisfying. Being able to go back and choose a different clan after completing the game and experience something totally different is also great way to keep yourself busy for a few months. The game itself is filled with plenty of missions that'll allow you to upgrade you vampire into one tough cookie. Expect to spend a good amount of time with Bloodlines over the holidays.
And the third, and most disappointing, is at InsidePulse with an overall score of 5.1/10:
As you can see, I was pretty disappointed in this game. I greatly enjoyed the story, and it could have been a very fun game, but due to horrible bugs, an awful combat system, and poor usage of the Source Engine, the game just turned out to be mediocre. The only reason the score is what it is is because of the story and good music and voices and graphics. Had those things been less, the game would have dropped into "suck" territory. And even as the score is now, I wouldn't recommend the game to anyone except die-hard V:TM fans. It's just not worth it.
I didn't think Bloodlines would ever see a low review, but there it is.
