You don't have to change to a prestige class if you don't want to... but, honestly, you will want to. The prestige classes really allow you to expand upon your character, and build better feats and Force powers. For example, the Jedi Weapon Master/Sith Marauder can get improved two weapon fighting feats and improved Jedi defense powers and feats; the improved two weapon fighting feat giving better abilities when wielding two weapons or a dual bladed sword or Lightsaber and the improved Jedi defense stacking on top of the Jedi defense that Jedi/Sith already have. Other Jedi prestige classes offer other benefits as well, beyond their normal non-prestige class Jedi counterparts.
And the second is at Inside Pulse with an overall score of 7/10:
Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is a good game, a fun game, and a game that can devour the souls of the unbelievers. er I mean end up taking you on a good ride that is long enough to be worth the price of admission. Though not outstanding in many departments the game is well crafted in the story and acting department. Games like KotOR II show how the line between video games and movies are blurring and that is a good thing. Hopefully there will be a third Knights of the Old Republic game, since Lucas loves the trilogies.
