Freedom Force vs The Third Reich polishes up some outstanding issues from Freedom Force, gets to the action faster and makes it better. Though the Third Reich occupies only about one third of the timeframe, we can forgive that - since the ending is pretty spectacular and the beginning is a fight with good old Nuclear Winter. It's set to an excellent soundtrack, as always, and nicely sets up the illusion of a silver age comic with its artwork and dialogue.
There are areas it could be improved - the fights could be bigger and more involved, and the game could be longer, and the powers have a little more oomph - but it's really just a series of minor nitpicks that tug away at the whole experience. Nothing to point a finger at specifically.

Honestly, I'm not sure where else to go with this review. The game is not entirely deep, but rather it keeps things extremely fun and extremely simple. While I tend of prefer RPGs over any other game style (except for FPS games of course), this style of RPG was new to me, and hopefully it would be a breath of fresh air to gamers new to the Freedom Force realm. With a balanced blend of role-playing and strategy, I can't see how Irrational Games could better perfect this blend.
It's interesting to see how so many gamers clamor to this franchise, because at its core, FFvs3R makes fun of the 60s comic book era rather than embrace it. But, lets face it folks, a good deal of the material found back then was campy in dialogue and artwork. Looking back, I can't believe I actually enjoyed some of that stuff (no I'm not that old). Still, somehow the style suits FFvs3R, and that's what makes the game so damn unique and fun to play, because in the end, that's what really counts.
