Both battlegrounds will provide players the opportunity to earn "honor" points by successfully defeating enemies in the battlegrounds and, more importantly, by accomplishing quest goals within the area. Blizzard hopes that these substantial honor rewards will encourage high-level players to attempt these challenges, as well as prevent them from patrolling the contested borderlands in search of lower-level enemy characters they can easily kill off in unfair fights.
And a snip from Game Club Central's article:
Warsong Gulch, with entrances in Ashenvale and The Barrens, matches up to 10 horde versus 10 alliance players in capture the flag action. Honor bonuses can be earned by capturing the flag of the opposing faction, making them an easier way to gain honor and thus more attractive to hard-core PvPers. Casual PvPers will be attracted to the strategies that objectives inject into the kill and be killed of player versus player combat. Other battlefields will have larger population limits, and different scenario objectives to meet.
