As if answering our Gauntlet prayers, four-player online support is also in the works, both for Xbox and PS2. This is wonderful news, particularly for Xbox owners, because Gauntlet-style gameplay isn't something you can currently find on Xbox Live. Dungeon crawlers everywhere should rejoice. The co-op game on a single screen was a lot of fun, so if Midway can bring this experience online, we'll have a smash hit to steal our money away this holiday season.
The second is at The Laser:
From a visual standpoint, Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows should take full advantage of today's rendering technology and graphics cards with advanced shading and lighting effects being implemented. The environments are much larger than in previous games, offering a much larger area for players to traverse with a lot more variety. The angled-top down perspective should make it easy to keep track of the action, without losing the detailed, rich graphics. The smooth animation and fast frame rate should keep the action to a brisk pace throughout. Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows' production values are already looking fantastic, with excellent character and creature design that creates a beautifully realized game world. Its deeper storyline will also help to immerse players further into the action, making for a deeply satisfying experience that should engage players throughout.
And the third is at AllXbox:
I have to admit enjoying the recent Gauntlet 'remakes' to a certain extent, but Seven Sorrows is going far above and beyond anything that's been tried with the franchise before - Midway brought J.E. Sawyer of Icewind Dale fame aboard to help create a surprisingly detailed, atmospheric setting for Seven Sorrows. Hearing him talk about the basis for the game's mythology and the inspirations for it, you almost forget this is 'Elf needs food badly' Gauntlet we're talking about here.
