Consistency is where Rise of Apocalypse shines. The gameplay and controls that made the first Legends such a success are unchanged. However, added characters, multiplayer features and brand new storyline give the formula new life. Bottom line: If you enjoyed the first X-Men Legends or love dungeon crawling and leveling up, this game's for you.
The second is at Houston Vehicles with an overall score of 4.5/5:
Marvels relationship with Activision and the always impressive Raven has always yielded a very careful care for the beloved Superheroes that have generally always created games that are a riot to play and stay parked in your machine awaiting for you to turn it on and play again and again. X-Men Legends II: Rise Of The Apocalypse is yet another example of this.
The third is at Gaming Age with an overall score of "A-":
There's quite a bit of replay value involved, primarily when trying to get the three hidden characters unlocked. One of which you'll unlock only by obtaining and completing all the danger room exercises. Along with that, the game contains quite a few comic covers and concept art that can be found throughout all the levels. Combine that with co-op play either online or off, and X-Men Legends 2 will have a pretty long life inside your system of choice. I definitely suggest picking it up, primarily if you were a fan of the first one, or a fan of the X-Men in general.
And the fourth is at Into Liquid Sky with an overall score of "A":
If you loved the previous one, X-Men Legends II is a fine step up and well worth your money. Raven has addressed a lot of the complaints from the first game without taking away from what made the game work so well. With tons of items to collect, including unlockable characters, and some excellent co-op play, this game may be the best the X-Men have to offer this generation.
