X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse is going to please pretty much everyone who picks it up. Role-playing fans are going to dig all the characters to level up and customize, comic book fans are going to go nuts over all the cameos and references, and action fans are going to be satisfied with all the different enemies they can kill. X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse is a great experience that you're sure to enjoy.
The second is at World Zero with an overall score of 8.1/10:
Overall, the core game in X-Men Legends II is excellent. There's a ton of fun to be had developing character builds, and exploring some famous (and not so famous) Marvel locales. While the game lacks polish, it offers such excessive replayabilty that you most likely won't even care. While X-Men fans are getting a fantastic addition to the Marvel lineup, there's still an extremely rewarding gameplay experience here that will satisfy anyone who simply enjoys gaming.
The third is at Just RPG with an overall score of 86%:
While X-Men Legends: Rise of Apocalypse might have some problems, the option to play as Magneto and the rest of the Brotherhood is an excellent addition to an already interesting game. Fans of the X-Men comics will love this game, but even if you aren't a fan, the game is still highly recommended. X-Men Legends II is a very fun and exciting experience that anyone can enjoy.
The fourth is at USA Today with no overall score:
X-Men are one of the few comic franchises that have made the successful jump to video games, and Legends II proves that yet again. However, unresolved problems and aggravating bugs keep Legends II from rising to the top.
The fifth is at Inside Hotwire 3D with an overall score of 8.0/10:
Fans of the X-Men series will definitely want to pick this one up, or at least give it a try. And for those who have never played an action RPG before should also give it a shot.
The sixth is at Got-Next with an overall score of 3.5/5:
So what you have to do is ask yourself do you like button mashers? Do you like X-Men? Is the first X-Men Legends a shining jewel in your collection? If you say yes to any of these, there's no reason to leave Legends 2 out of your life. And if you have friends just as nerdy as you, all the more reason to pick up this instantly fun and undoubtedly deep game.
The seventh is at XboxAxis with an overall score of 8.0/10:
Overall, X-Men Legends II is a solid follow-up to an already good game. Activision has addressed the original's problems and made significant improvements as was requested by the game's fans. This marks another success for comic book lovers!
The eighth is at WorthPlaying with an overall score of 8.3/10:
If you weren't a fan of the first X-Men Legends despite how many people told you that you should have been (don't worry, I feel your pain), if you were, or even if you missed the first one, fear not, because this new installment is solid. Fetch-quests and sometimes tedious level-grinding aside, Raven Software has refined and polished their product to a shiny sheen, and you should reward them for it with your money.
And the ninth is at Killer Betties with an overall score of 3/5:
I believe your enjoyment of the game will all hinge on your love for the source material. Why would you play this game if you weren't a X-Men fan? As a RPG X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse falls pretty flat it is RPG light or RPG for junior. As a X-Men game the game fairs slightly better, though that isn't saying much.
