X-Men Legends II provides a console quality experience in portable form. With Danger Room missions and comic book side stories, as well as unlockable characters and conceptual art, you will surely be playing X-Men Legends II long after the credits roll. You may even decide to give the New Game + feature a shot, so you can use all of your unlocked characters from the start of the game. X-Men Legends II is one of the finest games in the PSP library thus far, and if you have even the slightest interest in X-Men or quality action-RPGs, then give it a shot you won't be disappointed.
The second is at 3DAvenue with an overall score of 3/5:
It should go without saying that if you already own one of the home console versions of X-Men Legends II: Rise Of Apocalypse, then you can almost certainly live without the PSP version. Having said that, if you like dungeon bashing games and mutants, it's a good title to have, and one of the better ports to PSP we've seen of late.
The third is at GameArena with an overall score of 9/10:
At its core, X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse on PSP is the same game as its console counterparts, but the portability of the title and the exclusive extras makes this one feel a little more at home on the handheld. Besides, there aren't that many games of this nature on PSP as yet, so you might as well delve!
The fourth is at In The Mix with an overall score of 4/5:
However, overall this is a very good port made excellent by the addition of the wonder of online co-op play and extra content exclusive to the PSP. It pulls off the neat trick of keeping both RPG and straight-up action fans happy so is a welcome addition to the slowly improving catalogue of games available on the PSP. Oh, and it's got Patrick Stewart's real voice in it. Class.
The fifth is at GameInfoWire with an overall score of 8.5/10:
Really, though, these are minor concerns that in no way compromised the extent to which I enjoyed this game. If, like me, you have reservations for a long trip -- or, unlike me, you have a bunch of time to dedicate to gaming -- (X-Men Legends II) could be just the ticket to make those hours fly by.
The sixth is at DreamStation with an overall score of 8.5/10:
X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse is a great single player game or when played with your mutant friends. Xbox Live adds to the replay value and your social skills. The soundtrack adds to the environment, as well as the slight cell shaded graphics. The only beef is some weird camera angles at times. If you like the X-Men or were into Dark Alliances, you will really enjoy this game.
And the seventh is at GamersInfo with no overall score:
X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse is a worthy follow-up to the popular X-Men Legends. While the original showed us that licensed games can be fun to play, the sequel polishes some of the rough edges and is even more fun to play. Even though it is a sequel, it stands on its own as a great game, and you don't need to be an X-Men expert to enjoy it. Just pick your favorite team and save the world.
