Jade Empire: Special Edition Q&A

IGN PC had the opportunity to sit down with BioWare's Diarmid Clarke for a two-page Q&A about their newly released RPG, Jade Empire: Special Edition.
Q: Have any fundamental changes been made to the combat system aside from the two new styles?

A: We got feedback from the fans that the fights in Jade Xbox were "too easy" and we've addressed that in Jade Empire: Special Edition in a number of ways. For one, we've upgraded the AI so enemies fight smarter. The same tactics used in the original Jade Xbox won't work here, and you'll have to fight more strategically and use harmonic combos more often. We've also added a new difficulty level called "Jade Master" which becomes available to you after you've beaten the game. You get to take your same character and play through the game again on the super-hard Jade Master setting, but you retain all the abilities from your original game, so you can really max out all your stats. Jade Master is so hard that you'll also need to master harmonic combos to survive.
