UPPER DECK ENTERTAINMENT SHIPS '˜MOLTEN COREâ„¢' WORLD OF WARCRAFT® TRADING CARD GAME RAID DECKS
Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) invites any who dare to enter the Blasted Lands of Azeroth this spring as UDE releases the newest additions to the highly popular World of Warcraft® Trading Card Game (TCG). Following the success of the TCG's initial sets Heroes of Azeroth™, Onyxia's Lair™ Raid Decks andThrough the Dark Portal™ Starter Sets and Booster packs, UDE continues the saga this month with limited-edition Molten Core™ Raid Decks shipping to retail outlets today.
Based on Blizzard Entertainment®'s hit massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG), the TCG allows players to assume the roles of legendary heroes and experience the action and adventure of World of Warcraft in a new format. Released last October, the TCG's premiere set quickly became the hottest and most-sought-after trading card game in the industry, prompting UDE to reproduce additional quantities to support the overwhelming demand.
Featuring the powerful Fire Lord Ragnaros himself -- as seen in the World of Warcraft MMORPG -- the new Molten Core Raid Deck allows TCG players to simulate a World of Warcraft online raid. Using the pre-constructed 52-card decks featured in each Raid Deck, players can take on the role of Ragnaros and battle up to five players (who will be using Hero decks built with UDE and Blizzard Entertainment's Heroes of Azeroth and Through the Dark Portal World of Warcraft TCG sets) to engage in an exciting fight to the end.
Each Raid Deck features a sealed Treasure Pack with 10 unique TCG cards (exclusive to Molten Core) that represent Ragnaros's treasure for those who defeat him. In addition to the 52-card game deck and Treasure Pack, each Raid Deck will also include a Ragnaros deck, a Minion deck, Rune cards, 10 oversized Monster cards and one rulebook.
For both Molten Core and Through the Dark Portal products, lucky players will have a chance to find brand new, randomly inserted Lootâ„¢ cards that give players who receive them access to unique World of Warcraft in-game items. The set's new (Rest and Relaxation,) (King Mukla) and (Fortune Telling) cards offer a picnic blanket with umbrella and working hibachi, a baby gorilla pet and a fortune-telling imp, respectively, and can only be found through the World of Warcraft TCG.
Additionally, both products will feature amazing original artwork from today's top creators and UDE Point cards players can use to cash in for exciting and exclusive products on www.ude.com.
All World of Warcraft TCG products are heavily supported by UDE Organized Play programs, which feature exciting tournaments and programs made especially for the TCG. Regional, National and World Championship tournament series are included in addition to the Darkmoon Faire worlwide tour which launched in Austin in April and will be stopping in Chicago next (June 15-17th). Darkmoon Faire will feature numerous World of Warcraft TCG events and tournaments for players of all levels, and exciting prizes made exclusively for Darkmoon Faire.
World of Warcraft is one of the most popular MMORPGs in the world, with more than 8.5 million people playing the game in North America, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Europe, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. In World of Warcraft, players assume the roles of legendary heroes and interact with thousands of other players online as they explore, adventure and quest across a vast realm. Whether journeying together or fighting against one another in epic battles, players form friendships, forge alliances and compete against enemies for power and glory.
