While the menus did their best to suck the fun out of the experience, we can't complain about D&D Tactics' general presentation. The graphics are sharp and clear, with great lighting effects. Torches and Light spells cut through the gloom, illuminating the immediate surroundings with a nifty effect. Character models are good, too, with appropriately animated enemies. Zombies shuffle along as you might expect, and goblins bounce happily to their doom. Though it is turn-based, the combat sequences are engaging, with characters side-stepping attacks and bludgeoning opponents with seemingly heavy weapons.
