Rewards for these public quests are doled out depending on your participation level. If you only jumped in at the end and helped to kill a dwarf, you're not going to get the same reward as others who were helping Ugrog the whole way along. But it shouldn't matter too much considering the quest can be replayed again to gather in as much experience as possible. These public quests will be available all over the place (3 per chapter with each race having 23 chapters), which is very cool. Some of these public quests will even have to do with the PvP game, which is all realm vs. realm or in Warhammer's case, Chaos vs. Order. These PvP public quests should provide plenty of entertainment for players that get tired of fighting against the environment and want thinking opponents.
While a second preview is at GameSpy:
My demonstration concluded with an invitation to take part in a pair of PvP battles. Remembering my PvP experience at the last Warhammer Online demo, I jumped in with both fists-a-flyin'. The first scenario was Highpass Cemetery, a 12 vs. 12 battleground that's a straight-up slaughter-fest. There's almost no cover and the scoring system is based on simply killing other players for 15 minutes and getting points for every enemy player killed. This battleground was a good choice for a demo level as it presented the opportunity to try the PvP in its rawest form. There wouldn't be any tricks with terrain and no place to hide. The battle would be decided by whichever team could best utilize their skills and work together to defeat their opponents.
