1UP has revealed the "Game of the Year" picks as made by their network readers, with the "RPG of the Year" being Mass Effect.

Give people a galaxy and they'll want the universe. While BioWare didn't give role-players a game quite as big as the infinite cosmos, Mass Effect still provided a lot of planets to visit, people to talk to and stories to unravel. Even action-minded players could get into it thanks to the gunplay-centric combat.

The GotY is Halo 3.
