Drakensang: The Dark Eye hits top positions in German computer games charts
Hamburg/Germany, August 7th, 2009 Last Friday, Hamburg/Germany-based publisher dtp entertainment released the long awaited, highly acclaimed RPG Drakensang: The Dark Eye in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Today, Drakensang reached the top of the German sales charts:
In its first week of sales, Drakensang managed to climb up on positions 1 to 3 of Germany's GfK MediaControl charts: Drakensang's standard edition ranked no. 1 as this week's top seller. Drakensang's limited collector's edition ranked 2nd , a special steelbook edition of Drakensang made it up on rank 3 of this week.
'žWe also believed in the success of Drakensang: The Dark Eye and are happy to see this outraging performance in the German market now. We would like to thank all the people and partners involved that helped us to make Drakensang that successful, and we'd like to thank all consumers, RPG and The Dark Eye fans who awaited and supported Drakensang for months), Steffen Hippe, CSO of dtp entertainment, happily says.
Drakensang: The Dark Eye has been published in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on August 1st, 2008. Internationally, Drakensang will be released in Q1 2009 in several languages.
Drakensang brings back Germany's no 1 and one of Europes leading role playing systems to computer games: The Dark Eye's pen & paper version fascinates European RPG players for more than 25 years now. Drakensang is the first The Dark Eye PC game for more than 12 years.
Drakensang's story has been developed by the original TDE authors. This makes the world of Drakensang authentic: TDE players won't miss a thing. RPG players that are not familiar with TDE will dive into a medieval world that looks and feels like a trip to Central Europe, taking you back in time for centuries: Explore beautiful cities built of framework houses, hunt monsters and creatures in dark woods, search and find treasures in medieval castles and climb up the snowy mountains of the Kosh region, where Drakensang takes place.
Modern computer technology allows it to bring Aventuria, the world of The Dark Eye, to life. Stunning 3D graphics, tactical turn-based fights, displayed in a real time environment, and classic RPG gameplay along with a story that takes more than 1,000 pages will fascinate you.
