In fact, the PC strategy market has slowly evolved to where almost all major releases incorporate considerable complexity. It's almost a given that they'll come with a sophisticated tutorial because the play is complicated. This has, in some respects, turned them into a bit of a niche since we've only been developing certain types.
Consider the first-person shooter segment. It has huge breadth. On one hand, you have games like Bioshock or even Fallout 3, which blends RPG and action together nicely. But on the other, there are titles like Team Fortress or Counter-Strike, where users can jump in and play in a relatively short time, and without a lot of explanation.
