There are flaws to be had, namely the story is fairly short without any particularly high or low points. There's plenty of side quests to complete thankfully. The other problem is the game is a bit of an exercise in inventory management, with constant healing of your character as well asmanaging your weapon states and weight.
With the freedom to play the game however you want, and four different endings there's a ton of meat here for your sixty dollars. Bethesda once again proves they are the masters of the open world RPG.
The second is at Megawarp with a score of 8.0/10:
So, is Fallout 3 a worthy successor to Fallout?
Yeah! To a certain extent.
It doesn't reach the stellar highs of the original Fallout, but I don't think anything with the Fallout name can. If it has the Fallout name it will have to drag the baggage of Fallout's entire series along for the ride. The only way we're ever going to get a game as good as the classic Fallout or better, is to ditch the series and the setting and try to strive for something new and original. But.till then, I'm going to be shooting up Super Mutants and chatting with Lucas Sims.
And the third is at The Armchair Empire with a score of 9/10:
Though Fallout 3 is a good game and it lived up to all my expectations, it is certainly not for anyone wanting a quick game. Even though the main story line is relatively short in comparison to other role-playing games, you'll still spend a lot of time doing nothing but walking across the desolate brown landscape the option to quick travel will become your friend and getting into conversations, it doesn't fit well with a gamer that wants a quick fix. Besides that hesitation, I recommend Fallout 3.
