The North American retail sales tracker NPD has tallied the video game sales numbers for 2008 and they don't look too great. Specifically, sales are down 14% to 701 million USD, GameDaily reports.

Big Download Blog gives us the PC top 20. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King grabs the top spot in a Blizzard-dominated list that also sees World of Warcraft: Battle Chest (#3), World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Collector's Edition (#8), World Of Warcraft: Burning Crusade (#10), World of Warcraft (#13), Warcraft III Battle Chest (#15) and Diablo Battle Chest (#19).

Other RPG/MMORPG titles are Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures at 4, Warhammer Online: Age Of Reckoning at 5 and Bethesda's Fallout 3 at 9.
