The original Majesty is one of those games whose originality we remember so fondly that we can't imagine why it's taken this long for us to see a sequel. Whatever the reason for the tremendous delay, we're glad to finally get an update to this unique fantasy strategy game. Focusing on the player's need to motivate his forces and direct his heroes through rewards rather than direct control, it seems to be a bit closer to what real kingship is about. By using bounties and bribes to encourage your subjects and warriors to keep things running smoothly, players will find that cash is precious a resource as time in this real time game.
On top of that there's all the requisite fantasy trappings. Players will build guard towers to protect their towns from imps and giant rats, and can pay cash to have local mages launch a few well-timed fireballs at the advancing army. Amid all the chaos of battle, smart rulers will and will need to ensure that the wine cellars are open and the libraries well-lit in order to maintain the allegiance of certain knights and wizards in their employ.
