It's perhaps the biggest MMO launch in the US in 2009. City of Heroes creator Cryptic Studios stands ready to release their next-generation super hero MMO title this June with publisher Atari.

Based on the pen-and-paper RPG series, Champions Online will have things like a more advanced character generator system (where you create both your hero and his or her nemesis) along with a different cel-shaded art style. With DC Universe Online not launching until 2010 and the newly announced Marvel MMO not coming until 2012, Champions Online will have a huge lead in the next-gen super hero MMO race.
