Yes, Pinnacle Station is worth the 400 Microsoft Points price ($5). The biggest frustration came from the unbalanced Time Trials and replay loading time. If you've been away from Mass Effect for a while and are anticipating taking Commander Shepard into Mass Effect 2, revisit the game with Pinnacle Station. You may even stray into your uncompleted missions.
