XboxAddict gives it a 69%:
Darkstar One: Broken Alliance is a good game. It will find a dedicated following in the RPG/Space Sim/Combat gamers and most will enjoy the 20 or so hours of gameplay provided. However, this is due in part, to the lack of good genre games being created instead of being because of the outstanding playability. If the developers had focused more on the combat and less on the RPG and if they had not touted the HD aspect I believe there would have been a wider appeal.
Diehard GameFAN gives it a verdict of "Above Average":
The depth found in the game really saves the day here, because while the control scheme is a valiant attempt the AI of your enemies and the repetitive nature of most missions could mean disaster without the variety you yourself can bring to the game. Not Freespace, but not bad either.
The Examiner doesn't score it:
If you're a fan of the long lost genre, than you already know what to expect. Broken Alliance gives you an enormous galaxy to explore, one even larger than Mass Effect can offer. But newcomers to first person space shooting might feel like there's a bit too much drifting and not enough shooting. After an extremely slow start, the pace does pick up a bit, but it's still hard to recommend to anyone who doesn't have experience in the genre. If you're looking for the next great space adventure, look elsewhere.
And TheGamersHub gives it a 3/5:
Overall, DarkStar One: Broken Alliance is not a bad game or a crappy port for the consoles. It has well-over 30 hours of gameplay, decent story, many things to learn, and a vase realistic look on the future of space travel. The problems that it still holds are the lack of indepth tutorials, lets you go off the lash after a few combat tutorials, the steep learning curve, and can get boring after a few hours. If you love Space flight simulators and have the patients to grind for money, love economy based trading system than you might want to give this one a flight around.
