QUESTS AVAILABLE
Initiate Vault Decontamination (Quest Given by Patty): Get to the emergency decontamination center and activate the vault decontamination sequence to kill this giant blob - it's the only way to be sure.
Kill Security Officer (Quest Given by Patty): Patty, the vault security officer, is too far gone to save from the mutant blob. Put her out of her misery.
Oh Shit! (Part 2) (Quest Automatically Given): Another chunk of the mutant blob is blocking the computer console that you need to activate. Destroy it.
PATTY
You'll find Patty half absorbed by the blob in this room. She tells you how to initiate the extreme safety measures which will destroy the blob. You're supposed to get to the vault's monorail after you've initiated the nuclear device here in the laboratory. To do so, Patty gives you the Emergency Systems Keycard.
She also has one last request for you. She asks that you kill her before the blob is able to finish her off. If you grant her last request, you'll be awarded with 300 experience points.
EMERGENCY ROOM
Activate the switch next to Patty and enter the emergency room.
BLOB MOUTH
There's another blob mouth, but this one can be taken out with melee weapons if you have to. Just stand right in his grille and whack away, while taking stimpaks at a steady rate. You'll receive 600 experience when the blob is no more.
ACTIVATE EMERGENCY MEASURES
Flip the switch on the machine behind the blob mouth and you'll activate the decontamination sequence (which is actually a nuclear device designed to destroy the entire vault and surrounding area). You'll then hit a button that indicates you want to take the monorail next to the save point. Do save, because it's not over, yet.
MAD DASH
You have two minutes to reach the monorail car at the end of the station before the decontamination procedure begins. You don't need experience anymore, so just ignore all of the Mutants trying to slow your progress and run east until you get to the exit.
MONORAIL
The spot where you need to board the monorail will blink on your mini-map. Once you're on the train and headed to safety, the nuke goes off and destroys the entire city of Los and the vault within it (along with Attis... er, the blob). You are rewarded with an excellent cutscene after which you're treated to the game's credits and some speed metal by Slipknot. If you haven't had your fill of Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, you can now go back through the game as Patty, Rhombus, or the Vaultdweller on a higher difficulty setting.
