Background

The vault beneath the abbey is sealed, but an old monk called Simeon may know how to get inside. Apparently, it was Simeon who helped Etienne du Marnay get into the vault.


Walkthrough

Find Simeon

You'll find Simeon to the east of the abbey (#4). He'll offer you a deal. If you can defeat a "spiteful" undead priest named Zakkeus the Apostate, then he'll teach you the secret for entering the vault.

Slay Zakkeus the Apostate

You'll find Zakkeus in the "graveyard" to the west (#3). He'll have some skeletons with him, but he'll regenerate his health quickly, and so you'll need to concentrate on him to defeat him. When Zakkeus dies, he'll drop Defiler Robes and an essence.

Return to Simeon

When you return to Simeon (#4), he'll tell you that you'll need to perform a ritual to enter the vault, and that you'll need two things to complete it -- a special oil and the recitation. You'll find the oil in Sandspring Cavern (Exit A), and you'll find the recitation in the ruined Temple of Azunai (Exit B). Obtaining these items is covered in the quests Oil and Blood and Sacred Words. Completing the conversation with Simeon will also complete the quest and earn you 614 xp.

This is the camp where you'll find Mad Matias for the side quest Wanted: Mad Matias. You'll also find a book in the camp, which will give you the lore entry for Lescanzi Book.

This shrine is involved in the side quest Fires of Faith.


7 - Marlowe

This is where you'll find the corpse of Marlowe, which you'll need to loot for the side quest The Thief of Hearts.


8 - Shrine to St. Xeria

This shrine is involved in the side quest Fires of Faith. You'll also find a corpse nearby that you can loot.


9 - Breakable Wall


10 - Professor Jabberhack's Lab

You'll need to defeat Professor Jabberhack and his automatons for the side quest Wanted: Professor Jabberhack.


11 - Digglefitz

Digglefitz will give you the side quest Map of the Past.
