The Normal mode difficulty ratings in Icewind Dale II are reasonably basic, just impacting monster damage, hit points, and saving throws.
Heart of Fury mode multiplies all that by about a zillion but also increases monster hit dice in a way that gives you more XP and also upgrades most of the ...

Yeah, but that's just cheesey. There are any number of ways of cheating yout way to a high level character (using DaleKeeper II, importing from a previous game, fiddling the moncrate table etc) but they all suffer from the same drawback - i.e. what's the point in playing the game if you do that?

Wow, I have never heard of that before. Did you get the message at the end of the Shaenegard Bridge thing saying you killed everyone? The last few orcs do hide off to one edge of the screen. That's the only thing I can think of.

There's no extra XP for harder levels in Icewind Dale II (unless you alter the moncrate table or download one of those Insane Mode XP tables).
I never play with a full 6 person party but I have been told that you can get to about Level 18 by the end of normal mode, without level squatting or ...

There is a Hell Bolter and a Doom Bolter. One is the one he gives you for helping him and the other is the one you get for killing him. You can get both.

I don't understand what you are saying about Clubs. There is only one good club that I know of and that is the Club of Disruption. Otherwise the game seems dominated by swords. There are stacks of good longswords but four of the best weapons (non HOF) are:
- Greatsword of the Soulless
- Holy Avenger ...

No idea. That works for me. Sometimes it might go a bit funny and you go out and come back in again then it works. A 12 in Disarm Traps should be enough for most traps. Which trap in particular are you trying to disarm? Most of them are lame anyway, just charge on through and heal afterwards.

Everyone's answers to your questions have been correct. Sometimes it is very useful to multiclass just one level in order to be able to use certain really cool items. Other than the Holy Avenger sword for Paladins there some other cool items that only Bards, Clerics, and Rogues can use. If the ...

Turning undead depends on Charisma. If you have a min-maxed cleric with 3 Charisma then they probably won't even be able to turn a Manchester United supporter, let alone any udead.

You run IceWind Dale II Configuration which is an application in the same folder as the main program. It is the place you go to change your screen resolution. There is a checkbox you click to activate Heart of Fury mode. You then open a new game of Icewind Dale II and can start with all new ...

You get the first Bolter by helping the Duergar guy to fix his design (requires high intelligence), and you get the next one by killing him and picking it up from his body. I can't remember which one is the Doom Bolter and which one is the Hell Bolter. But they are both in normal mode.

None of these games ever stick religiously to the D&D rules anyway.
But of course it is possible to make a decent character without going below 10. You just can't make one of those freaky power characters, but you can definitely make some that will finish the game for you.
But how is that any ...

No.
In summary, the following would apply:
- Dwarf pure non fighter class - no penalties
- Dwarf fighter / non-fighter multiclass - no penalties
- Dwarf with two non-fighter classes - potential penalties

Yeah, I have had a couple of characters get to Level 30. They were in a 4 person party and got to Level 24 at the end of normal mode and had made it to Level 30 by the end of Chapter 2 in Heart of Fury mode.
Actually when you get to Level 30, it takes a bit of the fun away because then your XP ...
