In my previous campaigns, I start out in a dungeon, having the characters been thrown in or something, then they have to fight their way out. I think it is the way that I am describing things, or the way that I do battles. I think what I'm really looking for is a copy of a short part of someone's ...

I totally agree with Rob-hin. You need to go and buy yourself a copy of the Player's Handbook in the edition you are playing. It will explain anything and everything. If you are planning on DMing, then I suggest that you get the DM's Guide and Monster Manual as well. Those 3 books in combination can ...

I am not trying to be critical, but your plan seems a little, well... unplanned. First, the first 4 people to join may end up not liking each other, then you will have to start all over again. Also, not everyone is able to use Msn messenger because they may not have the service. Use something that ...

I think that half-orcs can be very useful as pcs. If you have a new player, they can be a half-orc. They will not be expected to do a ton of thinking, so the player can hack and slash, but also watch how other players do it and learn. Then when they have a new character, they can practice what they ...

Good Campaign?
Does anyone know the setting for a good campaign? I have tried to start several for beginning players, but they can't quite grasp the concept and I was thinking maybe I just have crappy campaign ideas.

I have heard of the underdark and will probably sound stupid considering my character is a drow, but the underdark is? and how do you get to it? I have tried to imply it into one of my campaigns, but it did not work because I knew nothing about it. What is the book called and how much does it cost ...

I understand that not everyone can get the time to write the story, but I wanted the option to be open. I will soon be posting my assassin's bio on here, and hopefully that will give others a good idea. I have tried to find a place to read other's stories, but I can never find them. That is why I ...

Set up a story post
Does anyone besides me think that it would neat to have people start writing stories or biographies of their characters to help everyone, including themselves, understand their character better. It could be as long or as short as they wanted, but it would have to be able to let anyone set up the ...

I always like to do what I call double DMing, which is where you get two people that work together on a storyline, then one DM presents the storyline as an adventure, and the other DM helps with details such as monsters, etc. because sometimes it can get confusing if you are trying to figure out ...
