Vote Barbarian. Damage Resistance and Rage is just awesome. Get the Helm of the Rock in ToB (+%50 Crushing resistance) and combine it with his innate Damage Resistance, and suddenly you've got a character who's nearly immune to many of the nasties you'll face (Golems? Pfeh). Blades and the like will ...

Either that or start with Kensai and dual class as you originally intended. The kensai's +1 to hit and damage per 3 levels comes under "misc"...so, with that in mind, if you were to take kensai to level 12, you'd get a proficiency pip and a +1 to hit and damage at that level. With 8 points to spend ...

Ah well, should work out alright :)

The berserker is a pretty similar option, but damage resistance at high levels is VERY tempting. Still, I could always dual class the berserker to Cleric (iconic Tempuran), so that's an option to keep in mind.

Thanks for the quick repsonses, guys.

Red Dragon Scale Question

Hello all...

I'm without a PC for a month, and when I get access to one again I'm stoked to fire up a new BG 2 game (lends itself so well to replays). Just thinking over the old armours, I was wondering whether the Red Dragon Scale counts as Full Plate, or as Scale Mail armour, because I was ...

I asked about...turned out that the site got hacked, so they've called it quits. Straw that broke the donkey's back, so to speak. Damn shame, and whoever decided to abuse them like that is a waste of blood and excrement.

A halfling's benefit to thieving comes in the way of +2 to Move Silently checks (race specific) and +4 to Hide (small size, Gnomes get this too). Stacked with their +2 Dexterity bonus, they are far and away the best scouts of the races, since their quicker progression for skill ranks offsets the ...

Unless I'm mistaken, TeamBG

http://www.teambg.net

still advertises all Infinity Engine based mods. They were responsible for the biggest Infinity Mod Projects, Dark Side of The Sword Coast and The Darkest Day for BG 1 and 2 respecitvely. Now, they advertise all inifity mods, and I think they'll ...

Not to mention bonus feats...being able to have greater focus in 3 spell schools instead of one or two makes you pretty damn effective.

In PnP, they wouldn't stack - the highest percentage would take precedence. I'm not sure if it works like that in IWD2, though, you'd simply have to test it or have someone take apart the code.

[QUOTE=FireN.Brimstone]Really the description of the feat both in the game and on this site said that all you need was weapon specialization in two weapons (was already planning that with axe and great sword so I can just use the most powerful 2 handed weapon I had) and 4 ranks in concentration, how ...

The Weidu changes to druid spells mostly got it right, IMO. Their summons seemed on the too powerful side, though not as extreme as their bastard sword changes (Executioner's Eyes as a permanent effect? +5d6 elemental damage per hit? WTF?)

If there was one thing I'd like to code in for rangers and ...

The Weidu site (search that name on google) has one download which includes the Collector's Edition Merchant, an Air Elemental in Orrick's tower. Apparently he sells some rather juicy scrolls.

If you're simply getting too frustrated with your finds, you may as well fire up Dalekeeper 2 and adjust ...

Bear in mind that for your barbarian, you'll need 4 fighter levels in order to access the maximised attacks feat, and take cross class ranks in Concentration. You need SPECIALISATION in two weapons, not just focus.

What works really well for any kind of dedicated tank, whether dwarf, half-orc, half ...

My own party was pretty similar (after I experimented with a couple of parties, then came up with one I liked)...

Shield Dwarf Fighter/Barbarian
Aasimar Paladin/Cleric (of Lathander...took 2 paladin levels, then the rest in cleric)
Human Cleric of Tempus
Moon Elf Rogue/Illusionist
Human Sorceror ...

It's worth looking over a race's bonuses before making a decision. ECL races allow you, like egg said, to make some very specialised characters. Stilll, the humble shield dwarf gets +2 to all saving throws and +2 to con, making them the undisputed best tank in the game and progresses in that ...

Charisma does indeed modify UMD checks. One question, though, if you're taking wizard levels, why use UMD at all? As soon as you multiclass, those ranks have been wasted since you can use all scrolls anyway. You're better off putting ranks into something you'll use.

In general, cherrypicking more ...

You'll notice that the experience points required for the next level is always current level x 1000.

For example, for non ECL races, going from level 1 to 2 requires 1000 XP, from 2 to 3 requires a further 2000 XP (for a total of 3000) and so on and so forth, right through all the levels. So from ...
