I like to scribe scrolls for spells I'm not sure if I'll ever use, that way I'll have them in a pinch.

Vampiric touch is broken too, it damages enemies, but the caster doesn't receive any hp.

You do have to select it, it's one of the options under backpack in the radial menu.

Familiars can't be removed from inventory, they just give bonuses to various skills. The chicken is an animal companion, druids and rangers get them.

The backpack is just a quest item, there are not any usable backpacks\bags of holding in the game.

I think you'll find the mod worth downloading, especially if you've beaten the game a few times. Livonya's stuff can be pretty hard, but the original game was a breeze. It has been stated over at co8 a few times one of the intention of the mod is for parties to loss a few characters here and there ...

I mean I think that spell is broken, and although it raises your character it can't change your race, even though it's supposed to.

Has anyone actually had this happen to them when having a character raised in this manner. I'm pretty sure the spell is bugged, and never changes your race.

I think they were both changed to bastard sword with the co8 patch.

I'm not positive how much of the text will change, but I I've seen people post the language in their game became english when they patched it.

Level six spells are available in the latest temple.dll from co8, but an official patch hasn't come out from them including it yet. There is little point in having npc's, I rarely use them myself. Besides it's easy to edit the temple.dll so that you can have a full eight characters of your own design. The co8 site has a thread describing how to do it.

Do you mean in combat, or just running around?

Just knock the troll out and coup de grace them(an option in the radial menu), that will work on sleeping or held creatures too.

When you take things from dead bodies or chests your followers take a share first, which is what the message is telling you. As for the chests they are probably locked, if you have a rogue you can use "open lock" on them, or if you have a magic user you can use the "knock" spell to open locks and ...

Some spells cost gold to cast, the ones that will bring a character back from the dead are pretty expensive. I'm not sure because I can't seem to locate it in the manual but I don't think reanimate will bring someone back to life, I think it's used to make zombies.

You know web and entangle are bugged in toee, enemies are supposed to try to break free, but they don't. Killing the balor is nigh impossible without using exploits in the game, although I've heard it can be done.

The best thing to sell to those traders are the shoes, they are cheap and dont do anything anyway. The encounter always comes for me the next time I travel after selling the item, which can be difficult if your party is only level three or so.

Install the co8 patch, npc's will only loot money and gems. What do you mean by "toons"?

You can get Scather with the console commands in the game. Hold down shift and press the ~ button, select a character, then type "give 4016" in the console window that popped up, but without the quotations.

I find holding tab (to highlight doors, items, bodies) works very well for things that are hard to pickup.
